Pet beds are expensive and they are never exactly what you'd like. So here's a tutorial on how to make your own donut pet bed. I made mine for my cat, but it definitely can fit a small dog or can be made larger for a larger dog.

Here's what you'll need!

1. A pet

2. A sewing machine OR needle and thread (and a lot of time!)

3. Fabric (about a yard and a half)

4. Matching Thread

5. Measuring tape/ruler

6. Scissors

Step 1: Measure and Cut

First measure approximately, how large your bed will need to be based on the size of your pet. Remember, that the seams will make it smaller so make it slightly larger than you would think.

You will need 2 circles (one for the top and one for the bottom). These can be the same fabric or different, as one is not shown on the bottom.

Next, you will need to cut the tube that goes around the bed. To find out the measurement for this, you will use the circumference formula C= pi x the diameter or pie x radius x 2. For my bed, the diameter was about 18 inches, making the circumference about a yard long.

Step 2: Sew

The sewing is, of course, the tricky part.

First, I sewed the tube mostly shut. Sewing along the long end, leaving one end open, to stuff later.I sewed this inside out, that way the seam is not noticeable but this is your choice. Make sure to put it back to normal before sewing it to the circles.

Next, I sewing the tube to the two circles, lining up the fabric as I go. This was the trickiest part. I also left part of this un-sewn too, so I could stuff later. If your sewing line was not straight, you can cut off the excess fabric from the circles.

Step 3: Fluff

First, I added stuffing the bottom circles (red material). Then, I filled the tube with fluff. I used poly-fil stuffing but, you can use whatever you'd like. Finally, sew the two ends of the tube together and then to the circles.

Step 4: Apply Pet

Fluff it up and apply your pet! Hope they love it! If you have any questions or comments please comment below!

Thank you, sew much!

About My Pet:

Luna has a dog brother named Tango. A tutorial on how to make a larger dog bed is to come!

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:

If you are like me, you have an interesting personality. Basically, you love to be sassy and snarky, gossip, and act like a total bitch (not really), but deep down, you are actually a very genuinely nice person. The idea of actually hurting someone truly makes you feel bad, and you probably have never actually hurt someone’s feelings because your kindness always shines through, even if you do not want it to. Not sure exactly what I would call this type of personality, but if you identify with it, here are some feelings you can undoubtedly relate to.
