Recently in one of my classes we discussed low-income students not receiving a successful education due to their economic status. Unfortunately, they put them in classes appropriate for them because apparently, the economic status determines the intelligence and capability of students. Education should be given equally to everyone because we are all capable of learning. Due to the lack of education, students have less probability of applying and attending college.
Schools want to socialize students by separating them, but still claim that they are all educated equally. These classes just go over simple things and they don’t allow the students to critically think. The readings are very simple and their vocabulary is not extensive. Since the beginning, they are destined to not have a successful education and they don’t get motivated to further their education because they don’t have the motivation.
Being from a low-income background shouldn’t be the reason why many students are not receiving a proper education. It should be completely opposite and students should be motivated to further their education in order to have a better economic status.
