We all know the American Idols that became famous and the songs that they have released, but what about those who didn't win the show? Many go on to have great music careers but aren't always recognized as much as they should be! Here are a few newer songs to add to your playlist from ex-American Idol contestants.

1. Prom Queen - Catie Turner

If you watch YouTube you may have recognized this song in a trailer for a new Shane Dawson series. This song is beautifully written and so relatable!

2. There's A Girl - Trent Harmon

If you like country, this song is for you!

3. Turn To Stone - Dalton Rapattoni

Dalton has several pop/alternative songs on an album released a few years ago, and here is one of the more sad songs for you to cry over during midterms week.

4. Feel Something - Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert has such a wide variety of albums, and his newest single really shows how much his music has changed since first being on the show.

5. Roses - Mackenzie Bourg

This is such a great love song!

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
