On June 8, 2016, Donald Trump became the Republican Party’s nominee. Since launching his campaign on June 16 of last year, the media has been portraying him as loudmouth and uneducated fool. In other words, sometimes he “has no chill.”
As a presidential candidate for our country, you have to be eloquent and intelligent but get your point across firmly at the same time. The highest standard of being professional is expected by not just citizens of the United States, but also by leaders of countries around the world. In the beginning, the media dismissed Trump completely based on the fact that he is not a politician. The media brainwashed the public into thinking he’s a joke since day one.
However, over the course of the last year he has improved his speeches and debate responses, but he never lost his passion. One of the most likable and admirable things about him is his overwhelming and fiery passion for wanting to make America great again. Every interview, debate, and speech he gives is full of pride and love for America. He wants to build us up a country, make us strong again, and have us be taken seriously again.
Trump is exactly what our country needs. We need someone with the faith, determination and drive to pick up the pieces of America that have broken off over the last few years. One major piece that is hanging on by a thread is unemployment. According to NPR, "SNAP [food stamps] and EITC [earned income tax credit,] however — despite giving people tax breaks and money for food — have no effect on the poverty rate." In 2009, 18.6 percent of the population was on welfare. In 2012, it increased to 21.3 percent. In 2015, it increased to 35.4 percent. One major reason for people being on welfare is because their jobs are being outsourced to other countries. These people have lost their income and their ability to support their families. Companies outsource jobs because they don't have to pay the workers as much, which saves them money. America needs Trump because he will bring the jobs back to where they belong - to the hard working American people. However, what is also unfair is that money is taken out of working people's salaries and goes towards government programs such as welfare and food stamps. Their hard earned money is going to a program that doesn’t even help the lower class out of poverty. While it has good intentions, it just doesn’t work.
Taking both these factors into consideration, Trump is the best candidate because he is a businessman. He will run this country like a business. He has the knowledge and years of experience in the business world that will greatly improve the financial state of America. He says what everyone else is too afraid to.
He is the candidate to support because it makes a huge statement when the media is doing everything they can to discredit him – because they’re afraid of change, for the better.
