America: Land Of The Scared And Home Of The Corrupt

Living in fear of what's going to happen next is not okay.

When was the last time you had a conversation with someone that didn't involve politics? Has our world really fallen this hard, this fast? It seems as though every news headline is about the election or yet another attack on the general public - or something even more devastating like families and children losing their lives. The roots of all these epidemics are actually quite minuscule in my opinion. Our once great nation has lowered itself to the levels of simple minded people for all the wrong reasons.

The biggest problem in this country is that our leaders are more concerned with the fact that they might offend somebody instead of controlling a more important issue. Guess what Mr. President, you can't please everyone. There will always be at least one person who doesn't agree with what is implemented here. Here's another obvious one for you - that shouldn't matter. People are losing their lives over ridiculous reasons that have begun in our nation's capitol.

Another widespread controversy, that is by no means recent, is the topic of racism. I don't understand why everyone has to relate everything negative that happens back to racism. Slavery ended years and years ago - why is it still brought up as if we owe someone else for something our forefathers did, that we took no part in? If you want racism to no longer be an issue, stop talking about it. It's that simple. If somebody did something or was punished in a way you don't agree with, you could easily just mind your own business and make sure you do right with your life instead of bashing an entire race on social media.

Freedom of speech is a right guaranteed to all Americans, but the problem with that is few use it for its intended purposes. Take our election for example. People post ridiculous things online that they simply heard from someone else. Our generation has grown to be lazy enough to not even research the people they will be choosing to run our country. Before spreading hate about a person you know nothing about, try digging deeper and answering your own questions before you make a fool of yourself and start a war on the internet.

This world is nothing like it used to be, and that is all due to the fact that people are filled with hate and rebellious intentions. We live in the greatest country on the planet, and no one can feel that way anymore, because none of us are safe. The places we used to roam about freely and express our individuality are now the gravesites of thousands of people. More people are submitting to evil ways instead of minding their own business and living life the way the good Lord intended us to - by treating our neighbors how we wish to be treated.

I'm just sayin'.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
