So, as a college student, you're probably thinking that there's no possible way you can live without Amazon Prime. Your textbooks always come in on time thanks to the FREE two-day shipping and there are so many amazing deals that are offered. Not only that, but as a first year user you get SIX months free. Six ENTIRE months? It's like Christmas came early. Or more like Christmas everyday for six months straight, in my opinion.

So how can Amazin' Amazon come up with these promotions that can give you a service that costs most people over $10 a month for $49 a year? Surely, all the two-day shipping shipping rates add up to more than that!

The big picture that you need to see is that Amazon is baiting you with Amazon Prime. Before you had your Prime membership, how many times would you voluntarily go on Amazon to buy things? Maybe once a month? Twice? I know for a fact that I go on Amazon literally every day now, buying things that I most definitely do not NEED. By allowing students to have powerful tools such as 1-click purchases and fast delivery, Amazon is boosting its sales tenfold, and these shipping costs are already calculated into the prices of Prime-eligible items and products. Essentially, Amazon is making a sh-t ton of more money while you're buying a sh-t ton of things you probably don't need whatsoever. This same ideology applies to every other membership-based service that renews monthly and it turns out to be a vicious cycle of buying and wasting money.

Then again, that's the power of Amazon Prime. It empowers us barely adults who have been living off of our parents' rules of what to buy and when to buy it, as we would always have to ask and beg before our parents will buy us something. Granted, I know I'M still buying things with my parents' money, but with this extra freedom I learn a few more things about finances and how the real world operates, not just this isolated bubble where I'm simply leeching off my parents.

It's kind of liberating.

But I'm definitely still wasting money.

If you wanted to know how Amazon is not losing money by offering these free trials and discounted rates on Amazon Prime, this is a brief overview.

Cheers, and go buy some more items you don't need.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
