Amazon is a revolutionary company that has truly changed the world. The fact that they sell virtually everything you can possibly think of is truly incredible but so is their "Prime" subscription. Many competitors like Walmart have bashed Amazon Prime by bragging that they provide "free" two-day shipping without a pricey subscription. However, Amazon Prime is SO much more than just free shipping, it is truly a lifestyle that its subscribers embrace for these eight reasons:

1. Free, reliable two-day shipping

The most obvious benefit is the free two-day shipping on thousands of common items sold on Amazon. This is the service on my Prime subscription that I use the most often and it has never failed me. I order something and it arrives at my door two days later. I've even gotten Sunday deliveries for no additional cost. This service really comes in handy when you need something ASAP or when you're in a pinch. When you need a textbook ASAP or some new running shorts for a last-minute charity walk you signed up for, you'll be beyond thankful that you have Amazon Prime. This benefit alone pays for your subscription if you order something on Amazon just once a month.

2. Whole Foods discounts

The newest benefit of being a Prime member is the discounts at Whole Foods. Prime members now save an additional 10% on ALL sale items and get exclusive deals on certain items in the store. I took advantage of this already and saved money on my last Whole Foods purchase with a Prime member deal on some crackers and I saved another couple of dollars on the already discounted sale items I purchased. This is a fantastic new benefit!

3. Free Prime Video

Amazon

Many people do not realize that a Prime membership comes with a free subscription to a Netflix-like streaming service. Thousands and movies and TV shows are on Amazon Prime Video and it is a great resource when Netflix does not have that movie you're looking for.

4. Free Prime Music

Amazon

Also with your Amazon Prime subscription, you can stream over 2 million songs, playlists, and stations for free. This can really help you save money on things like Spotify or Apple Music.

5. Free Prime Photos

Amazon

Why pay for additional iCloud storage when you can store your photos for free under your Prime subscription? Prime Photos gives Prime members free, unlimited photo storage for themselves and up to 5 other people. Finding photos is also easy with their advanced search tools as well.

6. Prime Pantry

Amazon

Prime Pantry is really cool. You can get everyday products delivered right to your door without the annoying trip to the grocery store/Target/Walmart. They carry tons of personal care products, cleaning products, household products, etc. at extremely competitive prices that are usually better than what you're paying in store. Not having to lug heavy laundry detergent and huge bundles of paper towels around on a ninety-degree day is a nice benefit too. There are even digital coupons right on the site that you can apply to your order.

If you are dreading a large shopping trip and want to avoid the crowds, crappy weather, and save some money, then this is a great option. They even have some products a lot of stores do not carry (like a certain kind of K-Cups I can no longer find anywhere else). Now that's convenience.

7. Free Audible Channels

If you enjoy things like Podcasts and audiobooks, then you'll enjoy this benefit of Amazon Prime. Audible provides unlimited listening to original audio series and playlists for many different topics.

8. Prime Day

Amazon

Amazon Prime Day is truly Amazon's version of Black Friday in July. There are some amazing, exclusive deals that will save you a ton of money.

In addition to these great benefits, there are many other little perks that come with being a Prime member. Best of all, if you're a student, you get a deep discount on Amazon Prime which makes it an even greater value! So, what are you waiting for? Sign up for your free trial of Amazon Prime today and fall in love with this service!

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
