Everybody loves Paris, Barcelona and Rome. The canals in Amsterdam are beautiful and shopping is great in London. However, Europe has more to offer than these places that are overcrowded with millions of tourists each year.
Here are some beautiful places you should´t miss to visit. You might haven´t heard of them, however, that doesn't make them less attractive.
Lofoten, Norway
Lofoten is a group of about 80 islands located on the coast of Norway. It is known for it´s excellent fishing and nature attractions and small villages off the beaten track.
One thing you must do: Taste stockfish and be amazed by the midnight sun.
Meteora, Greece
The Meteora (Greek: Μετέωρα, pronounced [mɛˈtɛoɾɐ], lit. "middle of the sky", "suspended in the air" or "in the heavens above" — etymologically related to "Meteorite") is one of the the six monasteries that are built on natural sandstone rock pillars, in central Greece.
One thing you must do: Hike to the monasteries.
Hvar, Croatia
The city of Hvar is a unique fusion of luxurious Mediterranean nature, rich cultural and historical heritage, and mundane, tourist present.One thing to do: Enjoy a sea kayaking tour.
Munich, Germany
Munich is known as the beer capital of the world for good reason.
One thing to do: Visit the Oktoberfest.
Coimbra, Portugal
Located halfway between Lisbon and Porto, this Portuguese town boasts one of the oldest academic institutions in Europe, and visitors here can partake in lively local festivals and traditions.
One thing to do: Visit the university district. When the academic year winds down, Coimbra becomes party central.
Warsaw, Poland
Known as the “Phoenix City," Warsaw has experienced its fair share of change. The Polish capital was practically demolished during World War II, but has since reinvented itself as an up-and-coming metropolis.
One thing to do: Visit Warsaw University’s library for one of the most beautiful views in Europe.
Budapest, Hungary
Although Budapest is the largest city and capital of Hungary, it’s still often overlooked on the itineraries of many tourists. The neo-Gothic Parliament building is a must-see, as are Castle Hill and the Castle District.
One thing to do: Visit street food markets to get a taste of Hungary.
