As many of you know, this past year the rapper Mac Miller had past away due to an accidental overdose. Teens all over were so sad and hurt from it, because whether or not you agree, his music had a meaning to it. Let me go deeper into this: His songs aren't just meaningless rap songs about drugs. If you listen deeper he's trying to say something. His song smile for example, the most used line is "wherever life takes me just find me with a smile". He was a very optimistic person. And maybe I am just a biased young teen, but I truly think his songs made me realize something important that majority of songs these days don't show. He made me realize it's ok to enjoy being young. That I'm still a young teen, and to live like I am. Live your life to the fullest. Don't do what someone else is telling you to do because it isn't frowned upon, or it isn't acceptable in today's society. Everyone in high schools tell you to go on with your life and get a degree or trade of some sort because that's what you have to do in order to be successful. But that's it. You don't have to go to college or a trade to be successful. If you want to be a rapper, then you go out and try. If you want to be a super successful entrepreneur then you go out and make your products and sell them. Whatever it is that you love to do, go out and do it. Life is too short to sit around and wait for something to be handed to you. Everyday, I listen to Mac's songs, because it gives me comfort and encouragement. Even though things get hard, just keep trying and smile. He raps about real situations and real things that everyone just turns their head to ignore, but yet everybody has an opinion. You do you. If you go after what you love, you will be successful. Thanks to Mac, I'm in college going for what I love, because he made me realize that no matter how hard it gets, I can do it. Rest in peace to the greatest legend of all time.
Amazing Mac
