I Am A Woman, but...
Wikipedia

Being a woman, and just a person in general, in today's world is hard. There are so many expectations and stereotypes of what a woman can be or should be, but that doesn't mean it is what she has to be.

I am a woman, but I was not put on this earth to satisfy a man.

Yes, I do want to get married and be a mom, but that does not mean everything I do and everything I am needs to be done to satisfy a man's wants and needs.

I am a woman, but I do not need to dress the way you want me to dress or the way that is "acceptable" for a woman to dress.

I dress to be comfortable with my body and how I feel best. Whether that is in a crop top showing off my body or in a sweater and sweats, I dress for myself and no one else.

I am a woman, but I am not limited to "woman's work."

I can be who I want and do any job that I want. I, and any other man or woman, should not be limited to jobs that society has labeled a man or a woman's job. A woman can be a doctor or nurse. A woman can be the CEO or the secretary. The point it is a woman should be able to aspire to be anything without having to worry if gender will be what sets them apart from the rest.

I am a woman, but just because I am in a bad mood does not mean it's "that time of the month."

I can be mad and I can be angry. A woman does not need to be happy and smiling all the time. I am allowed to be mad and moody without the assumption that my menstrual cycle has anything to do with it.

I am a woman, and it is not your right to tell me what to do with my body.

I can be as free and open or as closed and private as I want to be about my body. It is not your right to tell me my body isn't up to standards or is too skinny or too big.

I am a woman, but I am capable of being more than just my looks.

Do not judge me on how pretty I am or how much makeup I do or do not wear. Judge me on my mind and my heart.

I am a woman and I am capable of much more than society likes to think.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
