I am who You say I am. Who does the Lord say that I am? He says that I am His child, and He is my Father.

So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then God has made you an heir. — Galatians 4:7

We are called sons because sons were the children who received the inheritance of the family. We inherit the kingdom of God. Our hearts will forever cry Abba! Father! Praise His goodness and mercy for calling me His child! I am an heir to the King of kings and Most High. What a kind Father. He says that I am His friend.

I no longer call you slaves, because the slave does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends because I have revealed to you everything heard from my Father. — John 15:15

How incredible. He has called me His friend! I am a friend of Jesus. What a sweet relationship to celebrate. He says that I am His temple.

Don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? — 1 Corinthians 6:19

God has chosen me to be a temple for His Holy Spirit. What an honor. How incredible that this wonderful God has allowed me to be used by His Holy Spirit. He says that I am a new creation.

So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away--look, what is new has come! — 2 Corinthians 5:17

I will lift His name high because He has stripped away the old and replaced it with new! He says that I am chosen.

But we ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God has chosen you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and through belief in the truth. — 2 Thessalonians 2:13

Y'all!! He has chosen us from the beginning! He knew our sin, He knew our brokenness, and, yet, He still chose us! Again and again, He will choose us because He is faithful Father who has specifically decided that we were worth saving. In Colossians 3:12, it says,

Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience...

He chose us. He calls us holy and dearly loved!!!! He says that we are citizens of Heaven.

But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. — Philippians 3:20

He has a place for us for eternity. An eternity of perfect community with our Savior. We are eternity-driven and kingdom-minded! Praise Him for our citizenship. He says that we are members of the body of Christ.

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. — 1 Corinthians 12:12

We get to be in community with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. We get to be one body with one purpose in Christ. He says that we are His workmanship.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. — Ephesians 2:10

The Almighty God of the universe created us as His workmanship! Wow! Not just that, but He also prepared good works for us to walk in before He even created us! He equipped us to walk in these good works! What a God! He says that we are alive and free.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He has for us, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! — Ephesians 2:4-5

No longer dead, but alive!

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. — John 8:36

Free indeed, my sweet brother and sisters!! He says that we are fully known.

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, as I am fully known. — 1 Corinthians 13:12

He is the one who knows us fully and completely in all of our brokenness. Yet, He still loves, pursues, and delights in us. How amazing. I am who He says I am. We are who He says we are.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.
