I'm a dude and I stand by life, not for religious reasons like some but for the reason of humanity. Life is amazing, the light that can be created by a spark. The energy that thrives inside of us. Our ability to build relationships that stand the test of time. Our ability to love through the differences. To create something beautiful.
Some believe that a fetus is just a lump of cells, it has no right to live. I mean it's not really alive, right? I beg to differ. The moment the sperm enters in the egg there's a flash of light. Light is energy and energy is life, without energy, there is no life. Life begins at conception, DNA begins to mold together then cells start to multiply. By week four the neural tube forms, without it, the baby cannot live. The heart and circulatory begins to form. Life is thriving in the embryo as it continuously multiplies. By week seven it's adding a hundred brains cells a minute. At week nine it is considered a fetus. Major organs have been formed (heart, brain, lungs, etc). Energy is constantly driving the creation of new cells. Life is building itself a new home.
Some just want to hide from their mistakes. They had sex without protection and now they're pregnant. Instead of owning up to their mistakes, they run and hide. Get an abortion so they don't have to deal with being pregnant. I get it, unplanned pregnancies suck but it's still a human that is growing inside of you. At least give it up for adoption so it has a chance to live. What I don't get is that when a man doesn't want to be a father he's called a deadbeat dad, but when a girl doesn't want to be a mom she's called brave for getting an abortion. Called brave for stopping the energy of life. Denying the chance for someone to live. Before anyone says, "It's her body she can do what she wants with it." The body that is growing inside of you is not yours. That is a new human being that is depending on you to take care of it as it prepares to enter into this world.
