I Am Not Sorry For Who I Am

And you should NEVER feel compelled to be...

I Am Not Sorry For Who I Am

So each any every one of us is made up of thousands of different little niches and things that make us who we are. We all have a unique voice that we can beautifully express in any way we feel necessary. We all have different hands that can create the most beautiful creations. We all have the most interesting minds that can figure out critical issues or think about the most amazing things. Bottom line, we are each fascinating, intriguing, incredible people and we should NEVER feel sorry for who we are. We should never apologize for our passions, our beliefs, and everything that makes us, us!

My passions make me who I am. I could not imagine a life without my camera by my side because that is the thing that I am most passionate about. It makes me who I am, it’s what I excel in, it is what makes me happy. I am NOT sorry about that either, as you should never feel bad that your passion is cooking or that your passion is solving complex math equations because…. WHO CARES! That is what makes you unique and what separates you from the people around you. As long as you are not hurting someone in the meantime, then keep doing whatever you are the most passionate about, because you should NEVER feel sorry for who you are.

My beliefs make me who I am. If I was Buddhist, if I was Catholic, if I was Muslim, I should not feel bad about myself! We all should not conform to one religion or belief because again, that makes us all different. Difference is beautiful. It should be amazing that we can all believe in a different God, or not one at all, and yet still get along! You should never have to apologize for being left, for being right, for being a member of the Green Party because our political views are another thing that makes us unique! We should be nothing but happy that we are lucky enough to live in a nation where we can all think differently and be different, and not have to worry if our life is on the line! Our beliefs make us who we are, and you should NEVER have to apologize for what makes you who you are.

All in all, I am who I am. I am not sorry for being passionate in all I do. I am not sorry for following my dreams. I am not sorry for having my own beliefs. I am not sorry for being who I am. Each and every one of us is a beautiful, unique, and incredible individual. As long as you are only doing things in your best interest and not hurting anyone in the meantime… Be unapologetic! You should never have to apologize or feel sorry for the person that you are. Again, you are amazing. Keep being amazing. Then, be amazing and conquer the world, because I have faith in each and every one of us that we can do amazing things.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
