Growing up we always rely on our moms, to wake us up in the morning, to keep everything on schedule, to remind us what's important and to show us love in and out. Whether biological, adopted, step, or our own chosen mom figures, they show us love in so many ways. Don't get me wrong, dads deserve credit too but this one is special for moms. The older I get the more I realize how much my mom has affected my life time and time again. As things change, we enter new phases in life, our mom is one thing that never changes, she is part of our firm foundation.
Life can be crazy sometimes and no matter how old we may be life has its way of throwing us curveballs. At times like that, that are a little more trying than others, this is when we appreciate our moms the most. Growing up we always relied on our moms to be there, we didn't question if we could trust them or rely on them, we just did. Yes, as a teenager we might have questioned things here or there but in all reality at the end of the day we knew they loved us and just wanted what was best for us. Our days can be slightly overwhelming or it may seem like a whirlwind of things are coming our way, even in the midst of the craziness, the moment I call my mom everything seems to be little, whether we talk about the day's craziness or not. Talking to her is soothing and almost a reality check that things will work out, we just have to keep moving forward and it's okay to take the time to seek that comfort. They are our greatest supporters and friends.
It's a wonderful feeling to experience unconditional love. We all know we don't need to thank someone for loving us but our moms were there from the start and deserve the credit at the end of the day. They taught us how to love and how to give people a fair chance and to show love to others.Although we are all grateful for our moms, we don't always take the time to say thank you. Thank you for being there when we're upset over the most unnecessary things, for telling us that things will always get better (they do), for cheering us on even when we didn't have faith in ourselves, for being honest with us, for checking in even if we forget to ask how your day was, for rubbing our backs when we're sick, for buying us a puppy even though you know you're the one who will be taking care of it (13 years later I finally took ownership!), for always being there even in the dead of night. So thank you mom, for everything.
