Passion projects. Passion projects are projects you do just because you truly love what you're creating and are passionate about the subject. I am a big fan of passion projects. Recently, I embarked on a journey to dress like the Friends character, Rachel Green, for an entire week. Putting together outfits with pieces from my own wardrobe, as well as thrift store finds, and documenting the week on Twitter and Facebook combined three of my favorite things: social media, pop culture and thrifting. Passion projects like this one are for yourself. When you're passionate, it makes the work a whole lot easier. It's all about what you enjoy and if other people like it, that's an even bigger plus. It's all about constantly creating.
As a media major, I am constantly creating. As an Odyssey writer, I am constantly creating. As a passionate person, I am constantly creating. You must. Whether good or bad, it's best to keep trying and to keep coming up with new, fun ideas. Keep an idea journal. Every time something pops into your head, write it down because nothings worse than forgetting your next big idea. Get your friends involved, everyone could use an extra hand. Be proud of what you're making. Share it, you never know who's going to happen upon it. And Always. Keep. Creating.
