Ball State University, located in the not-so-famous Muncie Indiana. It's definitely an interesting place to chose to go to college at. However, so many people don't realize the amazing alumni who graduated from this historic university. Sure, almost everyone from Indiana knows about David Letterman, John Schnatter, Jim Davis, and of course Angela Ahrendts. The founder of Papa Johns, Garfield, and current CEO of Burberry graduated from Ball State along with David Letterman. However, there are so many other somewhat famous alumni that attended this prestigious university too.

1. Joyce DeWitt

Joyce DeWitt got her start at Ball State as a theatre major. She's most popularly known for her roll in the ABC sitcom Three's Company as Janet Wood. 2. Richard Mourdock

Perhaps one of the weirdest combinations for any Ball State alumni and their career would be the case of Richard Mourdock. Mourdock attended Ball State for his Masters in Geology and soon after graduation landed a job in the coal industry. Mourdock eventually worked his way up to a Vice President position in this career field. Mourdock was appointed State Treasurer under Mike Pence, however, resigned in a way that created a lot of controversies. Mourdock just so happened to resign right before cuts would start to happen to state retirement benefits. His resignation stirred a lot of controversy within the political sphere.

3. Doug Jones

Notable Accomplishments: Actor in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Hocus Pocus, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Major: Telecommunications

Doug Jones got his start as a cartoonist and eventually made his way into the acting realm. He's made several small appearances in many tv shows, movies, and sitcoms. He appeared in Pan's Labyrinth, Hell Boy and Hell Boy II, and is currently a regular on the tv show Star Trek: Discovery. Doug Jones actually participated in school life at Ball State by portraying Charlie Cardinal for a number of years.

4. Scott Halberstadt

5. Betsy Ross

Notable Accomplishments: Reporter for ESPN and FOX19

Major: Journalism

Betsy Ross is one of the most popular female journalists in the sport entertainment world. Ross is considered to be one of the first women to break into the national sports news field. Similar to Halberstadt, she is also from Connersville, Indiana. Since Betsy Ross' career bloomed, she has now retired from the sports reporting stage. However, she now owns her own company in Cincinnati, Ohio called Game Day Communications.

Judging by the most notable alumni that attended Ball State, you can only imagine what the future graduates of Ball State will be able to do with their degree. So for all of those Ball State students who are really second guessing why they're here and whether or not they're going to be successful, remind yourself that even these famous people started out exactly where you are. And they continued on to break history and several records.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
