1. A Day To Remember

They are a classic. Many people who had that middle or high school emo phase in the 2000s definitely know at least one or two of their songs either Have Faith in Me or If it Means a Lot to You. But not only are their old albums classics to listen to -- their newer songs like Rescue Me or Mindreader are amazing too. They also have a good mix of softer and harder music so everyone could find something they like

2. SayWeCanFly

SayWeCanFly is a significantly smaller artist but has some AMAZING content. His style is definitely on the soft side compared to the other artist I am going to recommend. But his songs are great and relatable. SayWeCanFly has a new EP called Nosebleed dropping on July 24, 2020, and so far the released songs of the album are great, my three favorite songs by him are Lifeboat, Anxiety, and If I Had an Airplane (Feat. Emily James).

3. I Prevail

I am definitely thanking my sister for this recommendation but I have started to really like them. They are similar to A Day To Remember with some soft songs and hard songs. For them, I would definitely recommend listening to their album Trauma. It is hard for me to pick just a few songs off their album because so far I love them all! But definitely with everything that is going on one song by them I love that is on the album and they also remade with Joyner Lucas is DOA. Both versions are great but the one with Joyner Lucas talks about the Black Lives Matter movement and sheds light on the issues there.

4. Papa Roach

Definitely another classic right here. They have been music since 1993 and are definitely on the more hard rock side of the alternative space but they have some amazing hits like Last Resort and Scars. Their newer stuff is awesome too! Their most recent album is Who Do You Trust? Off that album, I would recommend Better Than Life and Elevate. I love both of those songs!

5. Sleeping With Sirens

This one is one of my favorites and the definition of my favorite band back when I went through my emo phase. Sleeping With Sirens has some amazing songs, I am a sucker for most of their music but I love their acoustic album If You Were A Movie, This Would Be Your Soundtrack which is more for the people who like softer music or like to hear their songs in a different way. But I would say 3 songs I'd recommend by them is If You Can't Hang, If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn, and How It Feels to Be Lost.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
