It's rough spending Family Weekend without, well, your family. But just because it feels like everybody else is having a good time with their family units, doesn't mean you are alone, and doesn't mean you need to feel lonely. With a few coping techniques, you too can survive this.

1. Call home!

Requirements: a phone, and a decent amount of patience/occasional feigned interest

2. Netflix out your pain.

Requirements: do you really need motivation to watch Netflix?

3. Head to the library.

Requirements: literacy

**note: Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.**

4. Go on an adventure of independence!

Requirements: transportation, possibly a map, money will likely be helpful, and maybe some pepper spray

5. FaceTime your homies from home

6. Retail therapy.

Requirements: money, a sense of frugality, coupons, and maybe a thrift shop

7. #Gymflow

Requirements: a gym, and a lot of motivation- oh, and a water bottle

8. Student Activities

9. Homework.

Requirements: hecka motivation and sobriety

10. Hang with your homies

Requirements: a friendship as real as the POTUS and VPOTUS, or at least someone you can laugh with

11. Write letters

12. Redecorate

Requirements: a forgiving/helpful roommate

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
