About two months into my junior year, I went in for a routine checkup with my doctor who asked me "Oh, what year are you in at college now?" And when I answered that I was junior, she looked at me with a slight shake of her head and warned me that this was the hardest year for a majority of college students.
Having finished this semester with a lot of late nights, heartache, and my worst grade ever received in a class, I wholeheartedly agree. On the bright side, I don't have to worry about this anymore. In a few months, I'll be a senior! Here are my thoughts on this transition:
1. Am I actually ready to be a senior?
2. Is it possible that I already have senioritis? Would that be junior-itis?
3. Oh my god, I only have one year left.
4. I need to make a college bucket list.
5. When was the last time I met with my advisor? I should probably make another appointment to make sure I'm on the track to graduate.
6. Oh my god, I will be graduating in (hopefully) a year. ONE YEAR.
7. Should I start looking at grad schools?
8. Do I want to go to grad school? Can't I just get a job?
9. I have one year left before I have to fully adult. I'm not even sure I know what an adult is anymore, much less how to be one.
10. After I graduate, I am going to miss all of my not-graduating friends so much.
11. Man, I'm actually going to be a senior... That's kind of cool.
