1. They're so close all the time.
Everybody is within a short distance of each other. It makes it so much easier to get together and do things when they are only a flight of stairs away, or a building over.
2. Cars
You can find at least one friend who would be kind enough to drive you places. This past week, I was lucky to have friends to get me to and from the doctors twice. It’s more important than many people would think and I am so thankful for my friends.
3. Eating together
Every meal I can wrangle up someone to go with me. Whether it's having a set time after classes, or just on a whim texting “Hey do you want to go to Stucchi’s?
4. Classes together
It always makes the day go by faster when you have a friend in class with you. The looks you give each other during class that make class more entertaining. Plus you get a study buddy.
5. Fashion advice
Living on campus with a bunch of girls, you can find someone to give you fashion advice. Even if your roommate isn't the best with fashion, there are plenty of other friends to go to, to make sure that your outfit is perfect
6. Help you be less stressed
There is always someone available that can take you away from the pressures of real life to watch a movie, give a pep talk, or even just give hugs
7. Make sure you don’t do something stupid
Whether it’s staying away from certain people, or not eating food that's bad for you, friends are there to tell you no.
8. Experiencing new things
Friends are also there to help you try new things. Go to parties you never thought you would go to, or talk to different people. Join a club, or take a new class. They push you to be your best while getting a great experience and having a friend by your side.
9. Be there when you need them
No matter what I have people who would drop everything to help me in a time of need. To put off homework to give me a pep talk, or watch movies with me while I lay on their floor in a ball. To eat cookie dough and forget homework. It’s a constant support system that helps me get through the year.
One of the most important parts of college is the friendships you make. These friends will stay with me forever and I'm incredibly lucky to have them. Be sure to cherish your friends, and say thank you once in a while because friendships help the year be better.
