Is It Worth It?

We can cause ourselves pain, but sometimes it's to escape something greater.

Is It Worth It?

There are no words left inside

Blank as a barren white wall

Is my mind

Nothing could ever begin to describe

How quickly everything falls

Into the nothingness that is my life

Nothing is ever simple…

But that’s an understatement

Sometimes everything just falls apart

Even when you have planned for it

But you cannot predict

The future nor can you control the universe

Whatever it is that happened

You put yourself there and to struggle through

It and overcome it are two very different lessons

You are responsible for all of your actions

But the outcomes are not always your own --

To choose and sometimes there is much

You will have to prove

How much strength do you have in you

How much drive and will do you have

In your mind Can you make it through

Anything that you get yourself into

Is it all worth it?

Exhausting all of your efforts

For that feeling of something-ness

Can you really maintain all of your passion

And all of your love while you’re mind

Is struggling to hold on

Are those few moments of something other than pain

Worth the extra struggle through the rest of the day

You can ask me again

“Is it worth it?”

And I will always say the same thing…

"Yes."

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
