Now if you can’t constantly hear the Warchant in the back of your head while reading this then I feel that I have failed to express how being a Seminole is what I’m most thankful this Christmas season.
Campus
All brick, every nook and cranny, (except belamy we don’t talk about that) every building at Florida State is completely in uniform and beautifully maintained inside and out. No matter how stressed you are about exams, how much you feel like crap and want to die from the night out before, or how exhausted you are from walking up and down hills, Landis green can bring the most anxious person’s mind to a stand. If you catch it at the right time of day it looks like something you see out of a movie. How everyone puts their activities out in the open is beyond me but I love it. From LARPing (Live Action Role Playing) to Enu hibernators to the guys that are always juggling fire, Landis is never boring no matter what time of day and it’s beautiful, in its own weird, kind of way.
Football games
Where do I even get started? Chief Osceola, the War chant, marching chiefs and tailgating. Oh, tailgating, where everything and anything goes, it’s a campus-wide party, a holiday really. There is absolutely nothing better than game day in Tallahassee. If you find something better, let me know because I haven’t.
School unity
Even alumni can’t stay away. It’s incredible that anywhere you go wearing garnet and gold you get a “Go Noles!”. As long as you go to Florida State, there’s a connection, more like a bond. It’s like a massive family that you’re proud to announce you’re a part of. Away game, no matter if their strangers or not, if their decked out in Seminole gear you’re practically relatives.
Feeling of being at home
Being at FSU, campus feels safe and the people that surround you are all as proud of their school just as much as you are, it’s an incredible feeling being part of something bigger than yourself. Whether it be philanthropy organizations like Dance Marathon and Relay for life, a sports team, or a Greek organization, there’s so much to be thankful about everywhere you look around this campus. As always, Go Noles, and Merry Christmas.
