The first semester of a senior's school year is undoubtedly the most stressful and tortuous period of time. The weight of trying to get into college is heavy on the shoulders of 17 to 18 year olds.
There are a million and one applications to fill out. One mistake can screw up your entire future, not necessarily something one may want to think of, but an all too true reality. The common app, FAFSA, scholarships are just the tip of the iceberg. Deciphering what one may or may not need within months before committing to an expensive education is just as confusing to your parents as well. And past the college stuff you have to do, you STILL have school and all the extracurriculars beyond that. This isn't a time to be negative and stressed, but how can you be optimistic with these circumstances. While writing this article, I have job applications in other tabs of my laptop, homework beside me, letter of recommendation sheets. the knowledge of the SAT I haven't studied for, among other applications on my mind to do.
Crying is futile, there's much to be done. Just get one more thing done. and you're that much closer to a nice long nap...until you're interrupted by a pestering sibling. It's all up from here. Good luck!
