Although he is only a supporting character on the show 'Parks and Recreation,' he really spoke to me on a spiritual level. He is the guy who is always clumsy and who everyone makes fun of. He tries his hardest and still gets the short end of the stick. He is such a good guy, he is creative, caring and for goodness sake, he even pulled a nice looking wife and created pretty daughters. He seems to be the most stable character and yet, he is still the punching bag of Pawnee.
Everyone hates Jerry but everyone can relate to him at some point. Garry/Larry/Jerry/Terry or whatever his real name is... is in fact most people's spirit animal and I am here to prove it to you.
Remember that time in which you were trying to be cool and fit in, yet it just wasn't working out for you. Yea, you just had a Garry moment.
That time when your words got all mixed up whether it be near your crush, or during a more academic environment. Like that time when you were so nervous about reciting your oral presentation and you just botched it. Yep, another Garry moment.
When you try to balance your course work, two jobs, volunteering, internships, social life, and keeping your bank account from reaching the negatives all the while trying to fit in a daily workout routine. And failing at all the above....
Feeling like you did a fantastic job on that essay, or presentation, or anything along the sorts and checking the grade book and realizing you misspelled (or mispronounced in regards to an oral speech) the main word on which the topic was on. For example, if your paper or speech was on Venice, France and you get your paper back and you spelled Venice as 'Vince." Good job Garry.....
Or what about that time you tried to cook a recipe you saw on Pinterest that looked so easy....but it turned out more on the lines of you looking like an indoor campfire leaving you with no food and a very interesting story for your dry cleaner.
When you hear about the awesome party that someone "forgot" to invite you to.... and you slowly come to the realization that you do not need anyone but yourself to have fun.
When your family members notice that you are getting older and do not need fun stuff for Christmas and they give you socks... but you are not upset about it because honestly, you needed a few new pairs but you are way too broke to go out and by them yourself.
When you get that dreaded student loan bill...
However, through all of your weirdness, awkwardness and failures, you have a few select people who love you for you.
