Almost everyone has heard the quote from "The Help," “You is kind, you is smart, you is important." It is one of my favorites. What I love most about it is that this is being told to a little girl. Most little girls hear that they are beautiful and cute and pretty all the time and there is nothing wrong with that. But what struck me most is that this girl is hearing that she is more than just pretty. She hears that she is smart. She is kind. She is important. So much more than a pretty face.
