I have a whole new respect for my parents

After taking my boyfriends brothers out to eat and a movie this weekend, I have a whole new respect for my parents, and their parents.

These boys are triplet 12 year olds. And let me tell you, they're a handful. It started when one asked if we would take them to a movie, of course we didn't say no.

Their mother told them to be on their best behavior and mind their manners, all is good, right? lol nope.

Between them all three talking at the same time in the car, in the restaurant, in Walmart, and in the movie, I can only imagine what my parents felt like when I was their age. And there was only one of me.

Oh, and there was the seemingly endless games of tic tac toe while waiting for food with one, and random knowledge from one, and jokes from the other.

Then they all three literally licked their plates clean.

Then they smacked the butt of the Frisch's Big boy.

Then one ran across the parking lot of Walmart with cars backing out and almost gave me a panic attack.

Then there was almost being late for the movie because they all wanted to scan items at the Walmart self check.

Then there was the all three ordering popcorn AND candy AND a drink at the concession stand, then walking away while it was being fixed leaving me yelling for them across the movie theatre lobby for them to come back and carry their food.

Oh, and they're identical triplets, so forget me calling them by their names. I resorted to using what jacket they were wearing.

I have a whole new respect for my parents after spending a few hours with them. And the upmost respect for their mother.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
