Why ALL Lives Will Always Matter

We live in a world where "getting even" is more valuable than a human life. We live in a world where because of a single human beings wrongdoing, a whole nation-wide fleet is targeted.

It is apparent to everyone in this day in age, a human's life is not worth what it used to be in another human beings eyes. How is that the case? Where is the humanity?

It is DISGUSTING to me that 5 officers will never go home to see their families again. Their families will always have an extra seat at the table & a broken heart because people wanted to "get the police back". It is also disgusting to me that 11 were SHOT. If you are against violence, be against ALL OF IT. Do not pick and choose what side you're on because you are a hypocrite if you do so. Don't preach that you are against police brutality but then find nothing wrong with brutality towards the police.

It's to the point where I can honestly say I am ashamed to be a human being. Black, white, cop, or not- if an innocent HUMAN is shot and killed, it is absolutely unacceptable. You are DISGUSTING if you think otherwise. What ever happened to not stereotyping a whole entire group based on the actions of one single person. How can you target a whole police fleet simply because there was only one terrible officer. That is disgusting. It is 2016, people fail to realize that he said she said needs to end because our nation, even world, is being destroyed. Where are our morals? Why are we going back in time and not moving forward?

It actually hurts me to have to see on social media slogans such as "Saying all police are bad is like saying all blacks are thugs, all Hispanics are illegal, all Muslims are terrorists, all whites are racists." We shouldn't be stereotyping anyone.

To live in a world where we need to be scared to live our lives in absolutely unacceptable. Being a human being should not be this terrifying.

My heart is with ALL affected by the shootings this past weekend. & let us all try to remember that police officers keep us safe EVERYDAY. Just because A FEW officers abuse their power does not mean ALL officers are the same way. The media is very one-sided and tends to brainwash people who aren’t educated. We as a whole need to rise above that. We need to understand that the media instigates many things, the idea of a race war and a war on all police happens to be high on that list.

As the daughter of a fallen officer who lost his life protecting us from terrorism, my heart is with the police officers families that have been affected.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
