High school. The place where you're forced to spend four whole years of your life. You endure boring classes, lunch room fights and long nights of homework. Most people say high school sucked, but I have a different perspective. High school was great and I have nine people to thank for that. Now that we're all graduated and following our own paths in life, I just have a few things I want to make sure you know.
Thank you.
Thank you for helping me to make fun out of any situation. Thank you for making me laugh so hard that my stomach hurt. Thank you for being my shoulders to cry on, even when I've acted like a psychopath. Thank you for the countless sleepovers, adventures and deep talks. Thank you for coming to my house and making memories there I'll never forget. From birthday parties, to talks at my kitchen table, thank you for being there. Thank you for becoming my family and accepting me for who I am. Thank you for always being there, even when others came and went. And most of all, thank you for being you, because without each and every one of you, things would never be the same. Here's a special thank you to every one of you. Thanks to my best friend since first grade. Thanks to "the boyfriend." Thanks to the drama queen. Thanks to the ex-vegetarian. Thanks to the cat lover. Thanks to the little sister. Thanks to my granddaughter. Thanks to the ghetto dancer. Thanks to the oblivious one. Thank you for being my best friends.
I love you.
I loved you yesterday. I love you today. And I'll love you tomorrow. You have really become my family. I love every moment we all spend together and you have helped to make me, me. You are the only people in the whole world who I can be my complete self around and I love you for that. I love how we all share the same humor. I love our dance parties in the kitchen. I love our big group dinners. I love how we suck at planning, but we always end up having fun anyway. I love that no matter where I am and what I'm doing, that things make me think of all of you and I can't help but smile.
I will NEVER forget you.
The last thing I want you all to know is that I will never forget you. No matter where I end up or with whom, I will never forget my high school best friends. Please just know when I'm too busy to call or hangout, I am thinking of you. I hope that I will have you all in my life forever, but please just know, even if someday things change, you will forever be etched in my heart. Please keep in mind, even if we drift apart, you are the type of people I could not be in contact with for years and years and we could pick right back up where we left off whenever we meet again. And most of all, please never forget that you are my forever best friends.
