Some of these albums have either been released in the past year or so and have reached top charts. Songs you may already know and love. Although this may be just my opinion, it doesn't make them any less better than what you hear on the radio.
1.
Gallant - Ology
Christopher Gallant's voice is enough to channel your 80's and 90's R&B, alternative and electronic. He self-released his debut Zebra -EP. While in 2016 his studio album released Ology.
2.
Childish Gambino - "Awaken, My Love!"
If you haven't done so already. Definitely listen in on Glover's hit new album. It's been awhile since C.G. has released anything other than Camp, Because of the Internet, and Kauai.
3.
The Knocks - 55
These guys take disco dance to a whole new level. My favorite New York based DJs. Listen to "So Classic" in this album, it will leave you hooked.
NAO - For All We Know
Electronic, funk, and synthpop. The British singer, song writer Jessica Joshua has released some of the most interesting, beautiful, and fierce music. Even after collaborating with Disclosure and Mura Masa, she wanted to make an album that could bring about her name.
5.
Chance the Rapper - Coloring Book
Coloring Book consists with a multitude of genres that range from jazz, gospel, and rap. Not only is it one of his own mix tapes, but a master piece that explores the theme of faith and life.
6.
Tame Impala - Currents
Currents is the result of many structural changes, most of which consists of a bemused, melancholy like sound. Somewhat different from their other albums that don't necessarily split off with the guitar as the primary sound. Instead this album takes it's sound into a more electronic vibe.
7.
Quadron - Avalanche
If you need a get over him kind of song, with lyrics that won't make you want to barf. This is an amazing album with each song consisting with lyrics that will leave you singing along to more than just the chorus numbers. It's a soul popping wake up call to every sad love song you've heard on the radio.
8.
Pink Guy - Pink Season
I just had to. I mean come on, Miller's album has a satirical, offensive, and derogatory sense of humor. All the more reasons why you should listen to it. I mean they don't call him Filthy Frank for nothing.
