Freshman year was a year full of ups and downs, and lessons lived and lessons learned. These were some albums that became soundtracks to my freshman year, either because of their relevance to my life or just because of the frequency they were played.
1. Saves the Day- Through Being Cool
I picked this album up on vinyl midway through first semester. Around the same time in which the decline of my bank account began, accompanied by a guitar Christmas tree and 5'8 Santa clause for my dorm. The album itself is quiet, simple and nothing to special, just some kids singing about whatever, but I really liked the artwork on the vinyl I received.
2. MxPX- Teenage Politics
Another vinyl I picked up first semester. This album, well actually, this band has taught me a-lot about writing. Mxpx was one of my first introductions to punk music and has been one of my biggest influences.
3. The Cootees- Let's Play House
I found out about these guys, who are basically a side project for MXPX and for a while I listened the crap out of this album in my drawing studio.
4. Yesterday Kids- Everything Used To Be Better
Nothing is more depressing than the dreaded project in Drawing two, and having so much stuff going on, made it worse. But none the less, this album was a favorite of mine for awhile.
