I do have to admit that before Harry Styles started to release some his singles from the album "Harry Styles," I wasn't a huge fan. I was never that into One Direction. But this album was released, and now my life is changed. Let's just say, I AM A FAN. I am still at a lose for words. This is my reaction to every song on the album, it might seem all over the place, but please, stay with me..
1. "Meet Me in the Hallway."
What a great start to the album. I cannot say it enough. It's the meaning of hope wrapped up into one song.
2. "Sign of the Times."
Every time this one comes on, I kid you not, I physically sigh and start swaying back and forth. No matter where I am — it has become very problematic.
3. "Carolina."
Carolina is so old-school, in the best way possible. And it's fast paced, in the best way possible. It is just the BEST.
4. "Two Ghosts."
I love this one because it is so raw and real. Everyone has this experience, because everyone changes whether we like it or not. "We are not who we used to be."
5. "Sweet Creature."
Just as you think that you are done recovering from "Two Ghosts,"you are blessed with this track. It tears you apart all over again without even trying.
6. "Only Angel."
This one's great — obviously. They are all great. It starts off slow and you think that you are in for another emotional roller-coaster like the two previous songs... But then WHAM — yes, wham — it picks up, and next thing you know, it has you on your feet dancing.
7. "Kiwi."
You can get down and groove to this one. It's fun, it's deep, it's PERFECT. This is one of my favorites because you can't help but dance to it, and if you know me, you know that I love to dance.
8. "Ever Since New York."
Taylor Swift... What did you do to Harry?! But thank you for doing it, because if she hadn't, we wouldn't have this glorious track.
9. "Woman."
Oh man. This one of my favorites on the entire album. It is so catchy and old school. I can't help but bust out the air guitar.
10. "From the Dining Table."
One of my favorite lines from the album comes from this song, "comfortable silence is so overrated." I CANNOT.
Then it ends. And you are left with the lyrics "even my phone misses your call, by the way." You are left crying, so you decide to listen to it again, and it turns into an entire soul-crushing, happy-crying, life-contemplating cycle.
This album has a song for everyone. I can see an older guy at the laundry mat getting down to "Carolina" or grandparents slow dancing to "From the Dinning Table." There are some great party songs. My parents would love this album. Your parents would love this album. I don't think I've had so many emotions while listening to an album since Ed Sheeran's "Divide" (which I also recommend). I hope that my reactions to each song will encourage you to take a listen — just be prepared.
