We're coming up on the 11th week of the fall semester, so if you're like me, mornings are getting harder and harder to handle, and you either have six alarms set or hit the snooze button more times than you care to admit.
So what are college students to do to get us out of our warm, comfortable bed? Lucky for you, I've found 10 amazingly awesome alarm clocks that are sure to make your mornings a little more enjoyable and will definitely get your butt out of bed!
1. Hit-It Alarm Clock
This clock is designed so that when the alarm goes off, you turn it off by hitting the clock. That's a stress-reliever if I've ever heard of one!
2. Stand Up
The alarm clock is in a mat that you put by your bed, and the only way you can turn it off is if you stand up on the mat! #genius
3. Clocky—an alarm clock on wheels
This alarm is perfect for those people who are only capable of moving their arms in the morning, and that's to snooze their alarm. Put this alarm on your nightstand or next to your bed and when it goes off, it'll automatically roll itself away from you, so you have to physically get out of bed to turn it off.
4. Wake Up and Work Out!
Have you ever read those articles that tell you that it's good for your body to wake up to a workout or yoga, just to ease your body into the day? Yeah, I have too, but I could never drag myself out of bed early enough to care...until now! This alarm clock is the classic two-bird, one-stone scenario. It's a workout and an alarm clock all in one! The way it works is that it won't shut off until you do 30 reps of this 1.5 weight. And it has a built-in sensor inside so you can't cheat!
5. Puzzle Alarm Clock
Arts and crafts are a good way to relax and unwind, but this alarm clock uses puzzle pieces in a way you've never thought of before. When your alarm clock goes off, the puzzle pieces will eject themselves from the clock and scatter around your room. The only way the alarm clock will turn off is if you retrieve all of the pieces and put the puzzle back together! Pretty creative, no?
6. Rocket Launcher
If you're into space, NASA, or anything otherworldly, then I have the perfect alarm clock for you. This clock will initiate a countdown when it is time for you to get up and when the countdown is over, it'll shoot the rocket into the air. The only way you can turn off the alarm is by recovering the rocket and putting it back on the launch pad.
7. Laser Target Alarm Clock
This alarm clock is for the people who are really into hunting, "The Walking Dead," or any kind of target practice. When your alarm goes off, you have to point the laser gun at the target and hit a bulls eye to turn it off. If you want to mix it up and keep you on your toes (which I highly recommend, because we know how rough mornings can be), move the target around your room for an extra challenge!
8. Banpresto DangerBomb Alarm Clock
Get ready to diffuse a bomb first thing in the morning! Talk about a wake-up call. When your alarm goes off, you have to disconnect one of the wires, whose color is indicated by the lights on the side. If you disconnect the wrong wire, your alarm will keep going off!
9. Sonic Bomb with a Super Shaker
This alarm clock is equipped with a 113-decibel alarm, that's equivalent to a jackhammer, along with red, flashing lights! And if that doesn't wake you up, then the Super Shaker, which you put under your mattress and shakes the crap out of your bed, will be sure to give you the full effect.
10. SnuznLuz
If the other alarm clocks aren't motivating or creative enough to get you to leave your favorite place, then this clock should do the trick. This alarm clock hooks up with your Wi-Fi and links with your bank account, so every time you hit snooze, it automatically donates money to an organization that you despise. Pretty clever, huh? This alarm clock, in particular, should do the trick for the mid-semester sleep rut!
With all of these choices, there should be no reason why you're still sleeping past your alarms and continuously hitting the snooze button! We're almost done with this semester, so hang in there, Zips!
