On September 5, the Alabama Crimson Tide will face off against the Wisconsin Badgers in the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. Both teams are replacing major playmakers, and this will be the first game under the Paul Chryst era for the Badgers.

Wisconsin went 11-3 last season, with an electrifying bowl game win in the Outback Bowl against Auburn. They are losing Heisman candidate Melvin Gordon, but have QB Joel Stave returning. The Badgers have a ton of talent coming back at WR, but so does the Tide.

Alabama is also losing a Heisman candidate to the NFL, but they have a ton of young talent at WR in Calvin Ridley, Robert Foster, Ardarius Stewart and Richard Mullaney. The question at QB is still a mystery, but it looks as if Jake Coker and David Cornwell are leading the race.

Alabama opens as a 12.5-point favorite, and looks to gain a lot of confidence in QB after this first game. Hopefully, it will be better than last year’s first game against West Virginia. Last year, it was not the most assuring sight at QB, so we will see if there can be some confidence in QB play. I would expect Alabama to pull this one out just based on how good the defense is, and the talent around the RB and WR positions. If the QB can get comfortable early, then Alabama should be okay in its season opener.
