It's Friday afternoon, you're leaving class and walking across campus in a really good mood because this week of classes is finally over. Usually, you'd enjoy the sight of gameday tents, gray port-a-potties, industrial sized trash cans and white hash marks on the quad. On this particular weekend, there's an away game happening. While going to away games are incredibly fun, it's not always feasible for college students. While we don't just come to college for football games, there's still a bit of disappointment when we realize we can't just roll out of bed and travel a couple miles to go tailgate with barbecue nachos and Yellow Hammers.
Some of us come to college from over 800 miles away, while some of us travel from 80 miles. At the University of Alabama, there are students from Trenton, New Jersey to Grand Rapids, Michigan to Houma, Louisiana to Gadsden, Alabama. Our campuses have so much to offer, so why not take time to explore? People actually live in college towns after spending four years here, so why not do what the locals do?
