How To Travel Through An Airport With Style

Walking through the airport looking like you just rolled out of bed (which, let’s be honest, you did) remains the easiest option when it comes to travel style. Sweatpants for days, right? But, what if you could look cute and comfortable? Looking cute while traveling can be just as easy as looking like you got dressed in the dark. With the right travel accessories and essentials, you can look like you tried without really trying at all.

Although the paparazzi with cameras may be MIA, people will definitely take notice to your celeb-level airport style. You will stand out in an endless sea of groufits. When compiling all of the components that go into your look, it’s important to keep in mind that fashion and comfort are both equally important in creating a desirable look and experience.

The outfit you wear may seem like the most crucial part of your style, but the luggage you drag around is the true hub of attention. Suitcases are big, so it’s important to go with a suitcase that captures your sense of style. Whether it's a modern marble suitcase, a fun flowery suitcase or a suitcase that gives you the London look, the bag you roll around will take center stage as you make your way through the airport and plane.

Along with your luggage, you’ll need a carry-on. Matching your carry-on, which may be a smaller suitcase, tote and/or purse, to your luggage will help tie your look together. Depending on what your luggage is like, neutrals may be the safe option here. Neutral carry-ons that look high-end, but are reasonably priced, can be found at Target.

To have the best travel experience, it’s not solely about the luggage or the carry-ons, it’s about what they hold inside. Obviously, your suitcase contains the pieces of clothing you love and want to bring to your destination. In your carry-on, you'll need a few essentials like headphones, reading material (such as a magazine or book), an electronic device and a pillow. People who use these items while navigating through the airport look like they know what they're doing.

The items in your carry-on help accessorize your outfit along with what you decide to do with your hair, jewelry and sunglasses. Pick a hairstyle that suits you and rock it. Any hairstyle, whether it's a messy bun or perfect curls, can look fashionable with the right accessories.

With your luggage and all of your accessories in order, putting together an outfit should be fairly effortless. To accomplish a cute yet comfy look, take advantage of oversized coats, sweaters and flannels. In the summer, try jumpsuits, athletic wear and dresses. No matter the season, layers are key because the temperature on the plane and at your destination may vary.

As for shoes, pick a pair that's easy to take on and off. If you wear sandals, remember to bring socks so you can avoid walking on the unimaginably dirty airport floor with your bare feet.

Once you have all the pieces in place, your travel style will come together and people will mistake you for a celebrity in no time. Make sure to always have a cup of coffee in hand and snacks nearby to make your trip even more enjoyable.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
