Many things have evolved since the 21st century first began. The means of how we connect with others has evolved; with our portable laptops and our iPhones that do any and everything under the sun. Our sources of entertainment have expanded from only newspapers and daily news to Netflix and online media outlets (Odyssey is the best obviously). The same is true for our music. Sure, Justin Bieber's voice has transformed from adorable to talented, and Drake started at the bottom and now nothing but views, but what's really happened?

[OUR GENERATION HAS FALLEN IN LOVE WITH WORSHIP]

"Wait, what? People actually listen to that stuff?" Listening to worship music anytime other than Sunday mornings when your mom just dragged you out of bed and is keeping you from falling asleep by flicking you on the side of the head is absurd. But why?

We seldom realize the effects of music. If asked, you might not remember the first song you heard this morning, but spend 5 minutes alone and I guarantee you will remember when you stop and realize there's been a song humming in your head all day. Our music influences what and how we think whether we realize it our not. Given the choice, I'm sure everyone would choose to have a happy day rather than a unfavorable one. So what are you listening to throughout the day? Are you positively or negatively affected from it? If your answer was negatively, then here's your fix. Change what you listen to.

YES, as crazy as it may seem, worship music is pleasant. Not only is it pleasing to the Lord, but it's also good for us and can be captivating and enjoyable.

Groups of beautifully talented musicians and songwriters have written music over the last 10 years that speaks, excites and encourages us when we are feeling anything but. Some of the most-heard tracks have come from worship groups such as: Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation, etc. Below are seven of this years's most powerful and moving songs, intended to draw us in and praise the Lord in the best way they/we know how.. With all we have!

Challenge: When you wake play these songs and see how positive your day is with the different influence! Comment below if you experience a change!

John 4:21-24 | 1 Chronicles 16:23-31

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
