A week in college can be filled with stress, tests, and late nights at the library doing homework. The further you go in college, the busier your weekdays get, and you start to countdown the hours to the weekend. You begin to value your free time so much more as your course load becomes heavier, you have an on-campus job or even an internship. Here are a few reasons all college students love the weekend.

You actually get to sleep.

During the week, there simply is just not enough time in the day, which causes us to sacrifice precious hours of sleep. We spend our time in class all day long, while hopefully eating a few meals and grabbing a coffee in between, and studying our butts off so that we can boost our grade point averages. We love not setting an alarm at 3 a.m. and waking up at 12 p.m. on a rainy Sunday morning with not a care in a world. You may even take a nap later that afternoon, watch some football and then get some studying in. Sounds like a stress-free day to me!

You get to go to brunch.

Brunch is a beautiful art form that is often under appreciated. After you sleep until 12 p.m. you wake up to indulge yourself in delicious breakfast foods. You can stroll to the cafe straight out of bed and eat pancakes, eggs, and bacon until you physically cannot eat anymore. Such a simple idea of combining breakfast and lunch is a blessing in disguise after a long night.

You get to enjoy free time and have fun with your friends.

Everyone grinds during the week and wants to have a weekend full of fun. Whether that means having a few drinks, going to a party, or just sitting down and talking to your friends about how their week went, these are moments we value. You might go out to dinner to get away from the cafe food, or just go on a random adventure. We stay up all night and create memories that we will remember when we are in the professional world. This is supposed to be the best time of our life. Strive to create lasting memories with your friends that you have grown to love; have fun and always be safe.

We pay a ridiculous amount of money to attend college and every student's top priority should be their education. With that being said, I have learned the whole college experience is crucial to creating a well-rounded individual. Always remember that you cannot put a price on memories.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
