Ever since I first became interested in photography, I've loved taking pictures of the sky. I've wished my camera lenses were as good as my eyes so I could take photos of the stars. If it's almost time for the sun to set, my dad and myself will speed the car down the driveway to take as many photographs as possible. The sky isn't the only thing I enjoy taking photos of, but it is definitely my preference.
We take photographs because we are afraid to lose what we see. We take photographs of our friends to remember the good times shared, and we take photographs of our view because, at one point, the world is stopped. In that photo, time is frozen. Everything is perfect in this cold snippet of time.
I am, potentially, afraid to lose sunsets. To put this in better words, I am afraid of losing my sky. Everyone has a different sky. It has taken me some time, but I have fallen in love with the sky overhead of me. I look forward to staying up all night just to see the sunrise and I impatiently wait for the sunset. The sky alone is such an indescribably beautiful region of atmosphere.
In order for the sky to gift us with such a gorgeous view, we have to give back. We pollute the air with smog and soon our beautifully wonderful sky could disappear. Carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are just a few of issues. When the air around you is causing you to cough uncontrollably or cover your mouth and nose, remember this is mainly us causing it.
Love the earth; love the sky; because I promise you it will return the favor.
