Affordable date nights for college students usually involve "Netflix and Chill," but not every person wants to binge watch TV shows and lay in bed. Here are some alternative affordable date night ideas to try with you significant other soon.
1. Wine and a movie
I am currently sitting on the couch with a bottle of white wine (a $12 bottle which is still kind of spendy for a college student, let's be honest), and a movie ready to be rented on iTunes, while in leggings and a hoodie. I believe that one of the best things about date nights in is the fact that you don't have to dress up. You can stay in sweats and nobody can judge you. If you want to take it one step further, prepare some snacks for some movie watching pleasure.
2. Dinner and dancing
As lame as it may sound, my boyfriend and I have definitely cooked dinner and danced in the kitchen on multiple occassions. My favorite thing to do is cook a delicious pasta dish while the "Michael Buble" Pandora station plays in the background. It's nice to dance to some slow music while the smell of dinner is in the air. But sometimes it's great to bust out in crazy dance whenever that one random rock song ends up playing on the Pandora station.
3. Game night
Whether its video games or card games, being able to have a little bit of friendly competition with your significant other is always a good time. One of my favorite video games to play is "Lego Star Wars." I could sit on the couch for hours trying to pass different levels. When it comes to card games, "Pounce" is a perfect choice, unless you want to make things simple and go for a quick game of "War."
4. Build a Lego
Of course the affordability is dependable on which Lego you purchase, but honestly this is extremely enjoyable. This allows you and your significant other to work as a team and build something together. This is very beneficial for relationships and allows the two of you to bond on a different level. Plus you are able to test your creativity so that's always a win.
5. Crafts
I have to admit, when it comes to crafts I am not very creative, but I do enjoy making handmade things for other people. Even if its just laying on the ground coloring in a coloring book, or painting a small picture on canvas, making a gift for your loved one is a rewarding feeling. If you ever need some inspiration, head over to Pinterest and look through different crafting boards until you find something that interests you!
