Hey guys, last week was my first week of classes and I'm going to go off of my first week and tell you what to expect.
If your staying on campus then you don't have to worry about this but I do.
If your a commuter like me then plan accordingly on when to wake up, how long the drive is (if you drive) is there traffic are you gonna eat breakfast at home or on campus. See at different days of the first week different times in the morning, if you have morning classes, when you should leave for campus and what time works best with you.
In each of your classes, you'll probably know some people from orientation and you'll probably won't. Sit somewhere in the front or second row of your classes so your professor can see you. This mostly goes for students who live on a big campus with big class sizes. I go to a small college where my biggest class has only 22 students. I still follow this method but overall it doesn't really matter where you sit if your in a small class like mine.
Get to class early! For me I go to school early, eat breakfast there then leave the cafeteria to go to my first class and this is my daily routine everyday of the week. I get to my classes like 10 minutes early because I don't like rushing then rushing to get my books out. And honestly sometimes the professor is late so I get some time to myself and see what I have to do for my other classes.
Syllabus, syllabus, syllabus!
Professors will give you syllabuses. And if you go to a small college like me where almost everyone knows everyone then they will expect you to read it. And please do read it, there's a lot of important course information, books you need to get, professors email and/or cell number, important dates. Do not throw it away it's very important!
Textbooks!
I happened to get all my books before my classes but honestly you should get them the first week of classes because that's when your professor will tell you what book he or she actually wants you to have. I was lucky enough to only have to change one book but honestly you should wait till you get your syllabus and see what required books are.
I hope you all start off great and finish great! Have fun
