So summer is finally coming to a close, and it's time for classes to start. Even though classes can be hard, it's possible to do well and succeed. Here are six tips for doing well and having fun in college.

1. Plan Out Time to Get to Class

Sometimes it seems like you can get ready in 10 minutes, and thus wake up ten minutes before class. But it's also important to make sure that you allot time to get to your classes. Especially on the first day, it's good to get there a little bit early and find a good seat. As you know, the seat that you pick the first day is the one that you're stuck with for the rest of the semester.

2. Study Ahead of Time

I know, this one's hard. And it's way easier said than done. But try not to cram for that test on the whole nervous system the night before. Studying that much material in such a short amount of time is very overwhelming. Chances are, if you start studying three, four, or even five days in advance, you'll do much better on your test while also being less stressed about it.

3. Don't be Afraid to Ask for Help

If you don't understand what's going on in class, you can always go to your professor's office hours for help. This will not only help you on your homework, but it also shows to your professor that you really care about his or her class and want to do well. And if you're in a big lecture class, it's a chance to meet your professor who might not know who you are.

4. Naps are the Best

I'm sure you've heard that naps in college are a life saver. I can't tell you how many times I've taken a power nap and felt so much better afterwards. Chances are you're going to bed late, whether it's doing homework or just socializing, and you're not getting enough sleep. Naps will help get you through the day. Even if it's just a 20-minute nap, it can make a huge difference and make you feel refreshed.

5. Take Some Time for Yourself

Even though college is all about meeting new people and hanging out with friends, it's also important to take time for yourself. An upperclassmen told me my freshman year that alone time is just as important as social time. So whether it's watching Netflix on your bed after you're done with class for the day, or just chilling in your room, it's really nice to have some alone time

6. Don't Forget to Have Fun

Don't get me wrong, studying and school is important, but it's also important to have fun. It's not healthy to study all the time, and hanging out with friends can make you feel less stressed. College shouldn't just be about getting good grades, but also about making new friends and doing things that you might not've done before.

So there you have it, six tips to help you through college! But most of all, make the best of the year because it goes by fast, and before you know it, you'll be a sophomore!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
