There's a reason Taylor Swift is the most successful pop star, today. Contrary to what haters think, her lyrics are full of meaningful messages about life, happiness, but most of all -- love. Her smile could light up any room and the way she works a crowd makes it extremely hard not to love her (if you ever have the chance to see her in concert do it!). She has a loyal fan base that has grown up with her since her very first debut album at the young age of 16. We've watched her change genres as an artist from country to pop, go through different seasons as a person as she made her way into her 20s, but most of all, we've seen her get her heart broken over a dozen times. And while many would say she's been with every guy in the book, she's told us that there's always a reason it didn't work out. But nonetheless, we've learned so much from her heartbreak that it has helped us deal with our own. She has a song for every mood and feeling, and her lyrics never disappoint. So, with further ado, here are 30 pieces of advice that Taylor Swift lyrics have to offer us.

1. Band-Aids don't fix bullet holes you say sorry just for show. If you live like that, you live with ghosts.

2. Boys only want love if it's torture. Don't say I didn't say I didn't warn ya'.

3. 'Cause the players gonna play, and the haters gonna hate, but I'm just gonna shake it off.

4. Well, it could've been easy all you had to do was stay.

5. Love's a fragile little flame, it could burn out.

6. They take their shots, we're bulletproof.

7. Nothing lasts forever, but this is gonna take me down.

8. When you're young you just run but you come back to what you need.

10. Just because you're clean don't mean you don't miss it.

11. Love is a ruthless game unless you play it good and right.

12. I used to think that we were forever ever and I used to say, "Never say never..."

13. What's past is past.

14. You were trouble when you walked in.

15. Words, how little they mean when you're a little too late.

16. Cause darling, it was good never looking down.

17. But moving on from him is impossible when I still see it all in my head.

18. A simple complication, miscommunications lead to fall-out.

19. I'd go back in time and change it but I can't.

20. It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you, wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine.

21. Don’t wait your time is running out, speak now.

22. Who you are is not what you did, you're still an innocent.

23. All you are is mean. And a liar, and pathetic, and alone in life.

24. And you can't wait to move out someday, and call your own shots, but remember that she's getting older, too.

25. Sophistication isn't what you wear or who you know or pushing people down to get you where you wanna go.

26. Back then, I swore I was gonna marry him someday, but I realized some bigger dreams of mine.

27. These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down. This revolution, the time will come for us to finally win.

28. It's all fun and games 'til somebody loses their mind.

29. The best people in life are free.

30. And bring on all the pretenders. One day, we will be remembered.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
