So I may not be extremely wise yet and I still struggle daily with being a hot mess, but I feel that it’s necessary – as a girl – to remind other girls that they’re important and that as girls, we have to stick together! Girl power, am I right? Here is what I want to say to every single girl out there.

1. Eat a cupcake, they’re good. Be healthy, but don’t make yourself miserable.

2. Find your inner strength. It’s there somewhere.

3. A number does not define you.

4. Just because your ex is dating someone else, that doesn’t diminish the feelings they had for you and the special moments you two shared.

5. It’s okay to not like boys! Girls are just as cute.

6. When people tell you that you look like your father, they aren’t saying you look like a man.

7. Looking good and being fit is 80% food and 20% physical work. (Roughly, don’t quote me on that).

8. Don’t be the girl that always needs a relationship.

9. Not everyone is going to like you; don’t let it get you down.

10. Do what you want; except murder, don’t murder.

11. Speak your mind, but be kind.

12. Don’t accept sexism.

13. Be able to support yourself.

14. Learn how to self-soothe. At the end of the day, it’s just you.

15. And finally, don’t take yourself so seriously.

But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
