When you're a kid, you just can't wait to grow up. You see everyone older than you doing all sorts of fun things and you just can't wait until you can do them too. Suddenly you're an adult with responsibilities, stress, and problems and all you can think about is being a kid again.

No force on this planet can turn back time and make you younger again. However, it is possible to feel young again.

This past week, I decided to try and recreate the feeling of being a kid again.

You remember those disposal Kodak cameras that you have to turn to dial until it clicks before you can take a picture? The old school film cameras? Well, I bought one for fun. So with my disposable Kodak in hand, I set out on an adventure with my girlfriend to bring back the feeling of being a child again.

We found ourselves pulling into the parking lot of a local park. I threw open the door to my car and raced to the playground, my girlfriend walking behind me probably with an internal monologue stating something along the lines of, "Oh my god, my girlfriend is so dumb."

A few moments pass by and I found myself swinging as high as I can on a swing set I am much too big for. I instantly recalled the adrenaline of swinging again. In elementary school, my friends and I would always race to see who could swing the highest the fastest, and as soon as I started swinging, I defaulted to that instinct. I almost forgot I was nearly 20 years old because, in my mind, I was once again 8.

We ventured to another park and went down slides, swung on swings, and just sat and enjoyed the fun and excitement of the parks. All the while my girlfriend was snapping pictures on our little disposable Kodak, just like she did as a child.

We even stopped for Slurpees from 7-Eleven. When I was growing up, going to the local 7-Eleven and buying a Slurpee was always a treat, so to get to experience that again as an adult was nostalgic.

The adventure was simple, but it made me feel like a child again. Something we all so desperately need every now and again. It was a nice escape from being an adult, and I highly suggest everyone finds what makes them feel like a kid again and spend a day just enjoying it. Whether that be going to a park, taking photos on an old camera, or coloring in a coloring book again. It's a nice break from reality, and, let's be honest, everyone needs that sometimes.

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.
