My journey started on August 1st 2016.

I couldn’t wait to explore America and see new places across our great country. Little did I know the experience would change my life forever. For one thing taking this trip has taught me how to be very organized. I also came to the realization that I need to study abroad. There is so much to see in this beautiful world and I don’t want to miss a thing.

A few words of advice: If you are ever offered the opportunity to go on a road trip say YES! You won't regret it and along the way you will make memories that you will keep forever. As I look back on my awesome trip, I would love to share with the world my top 9 favorite spots to visit on your way to Las Vegas.

As I passed through these beautiful states I couldn’t help but want to photograph EVERYTHING. This country is filled with beautiful natural masterpieces and I want to share my experience with the world. Cleveland, Ohio was lovely and a perfect first stop.

We went to an Italian restaurant after riding the courtesy bus the hotel offered. Can't help but add how funny it was to see a huge cookie of the side of the bus! Next stop was Chicago, Illinois. The moment I stepped on to Navy Pier I was left breathless. It was amazing.

I couldn’t wait to board the Ferris wheel and see the views of Chicago from new heights. Next came Sioux Falls, South Dakota Although I was only there for a little while, I had a great dinner at Johnny Carino’s. If you are a fan of Italian food, I recommend going there. Now if someone were to ask me what my favorite monument or park was along the way I would have to say Mount Rushmore. The reason for this is that monument shows that anything is possible if you work hard enough for it. This has helped me to come to the understanding that almost anything is achievable with determination and hard work. So the next time you are upset about a test grade or are not doing so well in a class just take a deep breath and say to yourself that you can do anything you set your mind to! Mount Rushmore is a prime example of this! Next stop on the journey was Wyoming. I spent a lot of time here and enjoyed the breathtaking beauty of Dubois, Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole. I have to admit I was kind of sad to leave Wyoming but once I got to Utah I was quickly replenished with spectacular new views. And finally arriving in Las Vegas was an experience all in itself!

The city was like a gem in the desert, bustling with people and glittering lights. Now I have saved the best for last. All of the photos shown below were taken by yours truly. I hope you will be able to experience all the happiness and love I put into these photos. But I also learned that photos sometimes don’t do justice to the amazing beauty of the actual place. Maybe my experience will motivate you to go on your own cross country trip.

It might really change your life. From traveling 8+ hours a day across our great land and staying in a different hotel each night, it can really help you figure out life and decide which path you are supposed to go on while soaking in spectacular new scenes all around you. Life is short so take risks, travel and most importantly make your own happiness. See you later Las Vegas! It has been a wonderful crazy ride.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
