Adulting. You know, that term we like to use when we maybe know what we are doing with our lives. Sure, we do not always know what we are doing with our lives but using the term adulting helps us feel like we do know. So how exactly do we know when we are adulting? Well, it is actually pretty easy to see!
1. You have a plan for your career.
Sure, it might change, but you have ideas of what you want to do.
2. You can actually put together a piece of Ikea furniture.
And the feeling is oh so good when you figure it out!
3. And from that Ikea furniture, you have your very own tool kit.
You may have added a hammer and a tape measure but you take pride in knowing that all of those Allen wrenches came from Ikea.
4. You've bought your first car.
Be it new or used you have accomplished an independence like no other.
5. You can make more than one standard meal.
6. And you know that you shouldn't eat that whole chocolate cake in 1 day.
7. You put your pet before yourself, even if it means waking up at 6am.
8. You have and use actual plates and bowls. No more paper plates!
9. You can go grocery shopping and not buy only fruit snacks and ice cream.
10. You are finding your place.
11. Your weekend plans don't include fratting into the wee hours of the morning.
12. Your workout plan includes more than walking up one set of stairs and calling it a day.
13. You realize your parents were right most of the time.
Okay, they were always right.
14. The thrill of a Saturday night on the couch watching Netflix with your dog is so much more exciting than going out.
15. Your wishlist includes a vacuum.
Like, a vacuum is at the top of your list!
16. Sometimes all you want to do is crawl back into bed and avoid adulting.
And sometimes you do, but a lot of the time you suffer through and get up.
17. Your wardrobe includes ~business casual~ clothing.
Loft, Banana Republic, J. Crew. Wow, so much wardrobe building.
18. And lastly, you know you are adulting when you randomly have the realization that you're on your own. You are living your own life.
