Ways to Have an "Adult" Snow Day

For some of us, a snow day is actually a magical thing, not a nuisance. Those precious early morning emails with the word, "Canceled" can mean so much. Now that you're older, snow days may feel different than those childhood years of snowball fights and snowmen. That doesn't mean you can't, or shouldn't, enjoy them every bit as much.

1. Make a special breakfast (I recommend cinnamon rolls or cinnamon bun pancakes)

2. Re-read your favorite book, even if it was written for a 14-year-old

3. Wear your coziest pajamas all day and sit by the fire

4. Find the nearest ski area and go snow tubing

5. Put on a face mask that you made yourself

6. Take a long, hot bath using a bath bomb

7. Have a marathon of movies you love to hate/hate to love (like Twilight)

8. Binge watch Game of Thrones (the weather is pretty perfect for it)

9. Break out the games you haven't touched in years

10. Throw an adult sleepover with your best friends

11. Try out that crazy-looking cookie recipe you saw online

12. Make some hot drinks and go sledding

13. Cook a fancy dinner that takes all day, then invite some friends over

14. Start to plan a trip for Spring Break

15. Try on everything in your closet and come up with new outfits

16. Create the perfect snow day playlist and dance when no one's around

17. Finally open your adult coloring book

Now you can spend your snow day like adults do (or do they?)! Then again, a good snowball fight will always be fun.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
