In a world that is constantly engulfed in a battle between Pro-Life and Pro-Choice arguments, the sole purpose of this article is to illustrate why adoption is a beneficial option that is sometimes not given the proper attention that it deserves. I want it to be clear that I am not writing this article to push my personal opinion of Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice, but to simply demonstrate the importance that adoption has in our society.

There are numerous facts that you can find about adoption by conducting a simple Google search and doing a little bit of research using reliable sources. You may be surprised to know how many options there are. Adoption is not just for infants either. Many children are waiting to be adopted that are of all ages. One can adopt domestically, which means within the US, or one can also adopt internationally from a variety of countries, including China, Haiti, Guatemala, Kenya, and Ethiopia.

Adoptions that are domestic can also be open or closed. A closed adoption involves the birth parent not seeing their child after handing it over to the new family. In an open adoption, the birth parent can have minimal contact with the child, this can include yearly visits, occasional letters, or video chats/phone calls.

While the task of completing an adoption may seem overwhelming, there are options to make the process easier. The biggest one of these is using an agency. Most agencies will take care of paperwork, lawyers, customs and loads of other things that are easy to forget about.

Adoption is always an option, whether one doesn't have any way to raise a baby or someone is unable to have a child of their own.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
