I'm a huge fan of any show that is able to center on a relationship and use it to elicit an emotional response whenever it wants. TV shows are the best because each episode is roughly 42 minutes and always brings a dose of drama. You can binge it, like I do, or watch each episode one at a time like it was designed to be.
1. "One Tree Hill"
GiphyWhat. A. Classic. This is a typical high school drama with love triangles, but as it transitions out of high school, it deals with real issues and dives into how each character faces and handles them. It honestly took some perseverance to watch past the first couple episodes, but after that, it gets so good! The character development makes you feel like you're growing alongside them, and by the end, you just love each and every one of them.
2. "Gilmore Girls"
GiphyThis is one of my personal favorites. It's about a mother-daughter relationship and their experiences in Stars Hollow. What's great about this show is that if you rewatch it, chances are you won't remember many details because of how many things they deal with. The characters are unique, relatable, and it's real enough to make you take a good look at your life.
3. "Full House"
GiphyIf you want a show that always serves up a feel-good finish, then this is perfect. I loved watching "Full House" while growing up, and the show has really short episodes, so it doesn't waste a lot of your time. The characters are also all so cute and make you want to just be part of the Tanner family.
4. "Fringe"
GiphyHonestly, this is one of the best shows I have seen. And that's saying a lot because I watch so many shows! It's sci-fi and it has science, alternate universes, and the best characters. It's short and sweet with only five seasons, but the ending can leave you conflicted...in a good way.
5. "The O.C."
GiphyIf you've seen this show, you're probably asking yourself why I'm even recommending this. Well, I consider this my guilty-pleasure show. It has trouble holding plotlines at times, but the guys make up for it with their bond and love triangles. If you strictly enjoy drama, this is definitely for you.
6. "The Office"
GiphyI couldn't leave this one out. It's one of my absolute favorites after finally getting into it. It took me three attempts, but I'm happy to say I am a fan. The series chronicles the lives of employees at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company and their absolutely ridiculous boss, Michael Scott. This show is hilarious and each time you watch it you'll find jokes or characters funnier and love them even more.
If there's one thing I'm good at, it's the ability to rewatch shows like it is my job. I grow so attached to each story that it's really not strange for me to watch series three or four times. Give these a try and it might not be strange for you either.
