In the midst of all the extra words, I managed to pick out actual answers to questions from the first 2016 Presidential Debate.

1. Why are you a better choice than your opponent to create the kinds of jobs that will put more money into the pockets of American workers?

Hillary: Build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.

New Jobs with rising incomes. Jobs in infrastructure and advanced manufacturing, innovation and technology, clean renewable energy and small businesses.

Increase the minimum wage

Equal Pay for Woman's work.

Profit Sharing(If you help create the profits, you should be able to share them)

Paid family leave, earned sick days, affordable childcare and debt-free college.

She plans on making sure that corporate companies pay their fair share in taxes, in addition to closing loopholes to make sure her plan works.

Trump: Jobs are leaving and we can't let that happen anymore. Ford is leaving. Thousands of jobs are leaving. Jobs are leaving and being stolen from us.

Reduce taxes tremendously from 35 percent to 15 percent for companies, small and big businesses.

Create jobs like we haven't seen since the Ronald Reagan Era

Companies will come, they will build and expand

Re-negotiate trade deals, and stop these countries from stealing our companies and our jobs.

2. How Does Trump plan on bringing back jobs?

Our Country is in deep trouble and Mexico has Vat Taxes.

Renegotiate trade deals

The NAFTA agreement is defective. Hilary hasn't done anything about it yet.

Don't Let Jobs leave

Tax Companies that go to other countries to make products, so they don't leave

Hillary: According to the tax foundation, Trump's plan will balloon the deficit by 5 Billion.

Her plan which she intends to get done will bring back 10 million jobs because she and her team would make investments that will grow the economy

Climate Change

Hillary: Its real and we can deploy half a billion more solar panels, provide clean energy to power every home

Build a new modern electric grid( that's a lot of jobs)

Donald: We have invested in one Solar Company; our Country and failed because we lost a lot of money.

We have to do a much better job at Keeping our jobs here because we can't do what we're going to do with 20 trillion in debt

Provide incentives to build new companies or to expand

Cut Regulations

Tax Cuts

Trump: The Wealthy will create tremendous jobs. They will expand their companies, they will do a tremendous job

Get rid of Carried Interest Provision(great for the rich/wealthy. Not the Middle Class)

Hillary: Building the Middle Class, Investing in the middle class

Making College debt-free

Helping people refinance debt from College at a lower rate

Tax Returns

Trump: I can't release them because i am being audited. I will release them if Hillary releases her deleted emails.

Hillary: Why won't he release his tax returns? Maybe he is not as rich as he says he is.

Second; Maybe he is not as charitable as he claims to be.

Third; We have been told through investigative reporting that he owes about six hundred and fifty million dollars to Wall Street and foreign banks.

Emails

Hillary: I have made a mistake for using private emails and I take full responsibility for it. I would do things differently if i had to redo.
Trump: That was more than a mistake. It was done purposely.

How do you heal the racial divide?

Hillary: Restore trust between communities and the police

Make sure police are using the best training/techniques and that they're well prepared to only use force when necessary

Criminal Justice Reform

Get Guns out of the people who should not have them

Trump: Law and Order. If we don't have it, we don't have a country

Stop and frisk worked well in NY because it brought the Crime rate way down

Take guns away from Criminals, most of the time they are immigrants. Illegal immigrants

Protect our inner cities because African American Communities are being decimated by police

Trust between police and communities

Hillary: Address Systemic racism in the Country

Have second chance programs

Deal with mandatory minimum sentences which have put too many people away for so long

Comprehensive background checks

Pass prohibitions on anyone who is on the terrorist watch list from buying guns

Put money into budget to deal with implicit bias by retraining a lot of our police officers ($1 billion)

Trump: Agrees with Hillary

Give certain rights to people on watch lists and no fly lists

Help people who aren't supposed to be on no fly and watch lists get off

Take guns away from gangs and people that use them

We need more police and a better community

Trump on Obama's birth legitimacy and why he changed his mind after pressing it for so long.

Trump: "Well, nobody was pressing it. Nobody was caring much about it. I figured you’d ask the question tonight, of course. But nobody was caring much about it. But I was the one that got him to produce the birth certificate. And I think I did a good job. Secretary Clinton also fought it. I mean, you know, now everybody in the mainstream’s gonna say, that’s not true. Look, it’s true.

Sidney Blumenthal sent a reporter. You just have to take a look at CNN last week, the interview with your former campaign manager. And she was involved. But just like she can't bring back jobs, she can't produce."

Hillary: "And, clearly, as Donald just admitted, he knew he was gonna stand on this debate stage and Lester Holt was going to be asking us questions. So he tried to put the whole racist birther lie to bed.

But it can't be dismissed that easily. He has really started his political activity based on this racist lie that our first black president was not an American citizen. There was absolutely no evidence for it, but he persisted. He persisted year after year because some of his supporters, people that he was trying to bring into his fold apparently believed it or wanted to believe it. But remember, Donald started his career back in 1973 being sued by the Justice Department for racial discrimination. Because he would not rent apartments in one of his developments to African-Americans. And he made sure that the people who worked for him understood that was the policy. He actually was sued twice by the Justice Department. So he has a long record of engaging in racist behavior. And the birther lie was a very hurtful one. You know, Barack Obama is a man of great dignity, and I could tell how much it bothered him and annoyed him that this was being touted and used against him. But I like to remember what Michelle Obama said in her amazing speech at our Democratic National Convention. When they go low, we go high. And Barack Obama went high despite Donald Trump’s best efforts to bring him down."

Our institutions are under cyber attack, and our secrets are being stolen. So my question is, who's behind it? And how do we fight it? Secretary Clinton, this answer goes to you.

Hillary: There are independent hacking groups that do it mostly for commercial reasons to steal information that they can then use to make money

W are seeing Cyber attacks coming from States

There is no doubt that Russia has used Cyber attacks against all kinds of organizations in our country

Vladimir Putin has let loose Cyber attackers to hack into gov't files, hack into personal files, hack into democratic National Committee

We will defend our citizens and the Russians need to understand that.

Trump: We should be better than anyone else and perhaps we are not

I don't think anyone knows that it was Russia that broke into the DNC. It could have been Russia, It could have been China also.

There are many things we have to do better and Cyber Security is one of them.

Hillary: I have put together a plan to defeat ISIS and it does involve going after them online.

We need to do more with our tech companies to prevent ISIS and their operatives from being able to radicalize, even direct people in our country, in Europe and Elsewhere

We need to intensify our airstrikes against ISIS and eventually Support our Arab and Kurdish partners to be able to actually take out ISIS in Rocca and in their Claim of being in a Caliphate.

Once again, through all that junk, there were actual questions answered; some more than others.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
